Irina V. Shlyk is Deputy Head of Research Clinical Center,  Professor of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department, Deputy Head Doctor for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the Clinic of Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Shlyk graduated from Pavlov First Leningrad Medical Institute (1988)
In 1989, Dr. Shlyk graduated from the internship on anesthesiology and intensive care in the relevant department of Saint Petersburg Research Institute of Emergency Medicine n.a. I.I. Dzhanelidze. 

She is an anesthesiologist and emergency physician, working in this field since 1989. Dr. Shlyk is the author of more than 85 publications.

In 2000, she defended her candidate's thesis (Diagnostics and Prediction of Outcomes of Inhalation Trauma in Those Burnt), and in 2010 - her doctor's Thesis (Pathogenesis, Early Diagnostics, and Principles of Treatment of Sepsis in Those Severely Burnt).
Her major fields of activities are as follows: intensive therapy in those burnt, nosocomial infection, sepsis, hemodynamic monitoring.
