
Vladimir A. Rudnov is a Head of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department of Ural State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Chief Anesthesiologist and Emergency Physician of Ural Federal District and the city of Yekaterinburg, Vice President of IACMAC.
Vladimir Rudnov graduated from Smolensk State Medical Institute, then he worked as an anesthesiologist and emergency physician in State Clinical Hospital of Yekaterinburg. From 1980 to 1982 he was a Head of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Department in this hospital. In 1982-1985 he was a full-time postgraduate student of Anesthesiology Department of Smolensk State Medical Institute. From 1986 to 1997 he worked as an assistant, and from 1998 to 2005 he was Professor at the above Department.
In 1986, Dr. Rudnov defended his candidate's thesis on Central Hemodynamics, Contractile Myocardium Capacity, Cerebral Blood Flow under Balanced Anesthesia Based on Ketamine in the Patients with High Surgical Risks.
In 1991, Dr. Rudnov had practical training in the best clinics of Paris, France. He graduated from Higher Course of Anesthesiologists and Emergency Physicians in France. In 1995, Dr. Rudnov defended his doctor's thesis on Sepsis with Organ Dysfunction: Risk Factors, Prediction, and Choice of the Intensive Therapy.
His major fields of research are as follows: Pathogenesis and intensive therapy of sepsis, shock, multi-organ failure. Nosocomial infection in the intensive care and anesthesiology wards, pharmacoepidemiology of critical states, evidence-based medicine, and pharmacoeconomics in the intensive care. Dr. Rudnov is a co-author of 10 national recommendations and guidelines, author of more than 300 publications of various levels, he is a regular speaker at scientific fora in Russia and aboard.
He was an academic advisor for 3 doctor's and 14 candidate's theses. Currently, he is an academic advisor of 2 doctor's and 6 candidate's theses.
Since 2012, Vladimir A. Rudnov has been a Head of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit of State Clinical Hospital no. 40.
Dr. Rudnov is a member of Presidium of the Board of Federation of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Russia, Russian Association of Specialists in Surgical Infections (RASKhI), Vice President of Interregional Association for Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (IACMAC). He is Chief Anesthesiologist and Emergency Physician of the city of Yekaterinburg and Ural Federal District, Academic Secretary of Thesis Board of Ural State Medical University.
Dr. Rudnov is Editor-in-Chief of Intensive Care Journal. He is a member of Editorial Boards of the following journals: Intensive Care Herald, Messenger of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation, Actual Issues of Intensive Care, Ural Medical Journal, Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, and Surgical Infections.
