Sergey N. Avdeev  - Deputy Director of  Pulmonology Research Institute by the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor. Pr. Avdeev specializes in the intensive care of respiratory diseases and interstitial pulmonary diseases. 

He graduated with honors from  Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.

He had his residency specializing in therapy at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.

In 1999, Pr. Avdeev had practical training in Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, France.

His candidate's thesis was devoted to the problems of non-invasive pulmonary ventilation.

In 2004, he defended his doctor's thesis on acute respiratory failure in COPD patients in Pulmonology Research Institute by the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency.

In 2007, Dr. Avdeed was awarded the Professor's title specializing in pulmonology.

In 2003 and 2011, he received the Russian Government Award and in 2009 - the Russian Best Doctors' Award of Prizvaniye (Mission).

In 2016 he became a correspondent member of RAS specializing in pulmonology.
