Journal History

The Journal was founded in 2004 by the Foundation for Healthcare Promotion of FIOT (Moscow), and its initial title was Clinical Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. Prof. I.V. Molchanov was appointed as Editor-in-Chief. For the next five years, there were 6 issues of the Journal per year and it was aimed at the publishing of certain special questions of anesthesiology and intensive care.

In 2009, V.V. Yakushev, Executive Director of the Foundation, requested Yu. S. Polushin, who was the President of Federation of Anesthesiologists and Reanimatologists, to become the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal and to cover the activities of the Federation.

As Yu.S. Polushin offered, the Journal's registration was changed, and NEW TERRA Publishing House and Federation of Anesthesiologists and Reanimatologists became the co-founders of the Journal. The title of the Journal was changed into Messenger of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation as well as its design to be consistent with the Bulletin previously published by the Federation under the same title. There are still 6 issues of the Journal per year with 1000 printed copies. There is an electronic version of the Journal, it has more headings now, and editorial staff includes the leading specialists of this country.

In 2010, the Journal was registered in the electronic library of eLibrary and in 2012 it was added to the List of Major of  Peer-reviewed Journals, where the main results of research of candidate's and doctor's theses are to be published. In December 2015, Supreme Attestation Commission confirmed the status of the Journal and its compliance with SAC requirements.
